BIREUEN – The Chairman of Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas officially launched a pilot project for corn cultivation in Ulee Ceu Village, Jangka District, Bireuen Regency, as an initial step in supporting food security strengthening and optimizing the agricultural sector at the village level.
This program is part of an effort to encourage the productive and sustainable use of agricultural land while providing economic benefits to the local community, especially farmers.
In his statement, the Chairman explained that this pilot project is expected to serve as an example of agriculture development based on local potential that can improve community welfare.
“We are promoting this program as a concrete step to drive the agricultural sector to become more productive and provide direct benefits to the community,” he said.
He added that corn planting was chosen because it has stable economic value and broad market potential, making it one of the leading commodities in the region.
In addition, this program is also expected to become a pilot model for agricultural development in other villages in Jangka District as well as throughout Bireuen Regency in general, in order to strengthen regional food security.
With the launch of this corn cultivation pilot project, it is hoped that there will be increased community participation in the agricultural sector and the creation of a more independent, productive, and sustainable farming system.
